Antique Rose Emporium

Located in Independence, Tx.  Beautiful roses and quaint little gift shops can be found here.  The Antique Rose Emporium has been featured in Victoria Magazine and on tv a few times.  My mother, grandmother and I often meet up here.

Tx Bluebonnets in the spring

A local resident stops by the Antique Rose Emporium to smell all the roses....

.... and to chase a few bugs crawling in the gardens.

This building used to be a church house.  When my niece and nephew were little, they always told me that the Antique Rose Emporium was magic, especially the old church house and a little bridge there.  They even had "a wishing bench!"  Lol!

Downtown Brenham

My nephew enjoying an ice cream cone on a typical hot summer's day.

Chappell Hill

To live in the Chappell Hill countryside would be a dream come true!

It's always felt like home to both Mom and myself.

Winkleman

Winkleman is a cluster of old buildings just off the road between Chappell Hill & Brenham.  In my first two books, Winkleman is how I envision Emily's town.  This building I've always seen as the post office, and the pond - in my mind's eye - I've moved just beneath those windows.

The Citadel

This is the old winery.  When I was a small child and traveling to our grandmother's house, I always asked my mother to wake me up before we passed the Citadel.  My sister and I used to imagine it was haunted.  Also, my mother used to have an old beau that always said he was going to buy her The Citadel one day.  Lol!

My lovely cows.
I wish they were my nearest neighbors - seriously.

"Gods of the country," I call them.

Believe it or not, this picture of this pretty little barn was taken from the parking lot of a gas station.

Maddie Kate loves Brenham!

Maddie doesn't like to travel, but she does LOVE that country air!

This picture was taken on our way to Austin.  Like Mom and me, Madison is a country gal at heart.

I believe this picture was taken around Huntsville.

Washington on the Brazos

State Park where the bluebonnets are gorgeous in the spring.

The Alamo in San Antonio

Haven't been to the Alamo in years, but it's said to be haunted. Lots of residual hauntings/imprints are there, I imagine.

Houston

The Japanese Gardens.

Houston Zoo/Hermann Park

Minute Maid Park

Austin

Austin and myself aren't on very good terms since my niece & nephew moved there 9 years ago.

State Capital

"Cue the deer."

The Oasis

This is a really popular restaurant in Austin.  Beautiful views of Lake Travis.

Port Aransas

Since Galveston Island is so BLAH and dirty, we head for Port Aransas every few years instead.

Galveston Island

Not my favorite beach, but it's the closest.
